Diagnostic Evaluation

A broad spectrum of diagnostic tools is available for a complete assessment of the nature and scope of an individual’s difficulties. The clinical staff at JFS can provide and arrange psychosocial, psychological and psychiatric evaluations. Data is gathered to develop an integrated treatment plan specifically designed to meet an individual’s needs.

  • Psychosocial Evaluation:

The initial phase of treatment is frequently a difficult and frightening time. Prior to formal recommendations, the clinical staff will outline the therapeutic process. The individual’s social, educational and occupational history as well as current information related to home and career life is carefully explored.

  • Psychological Evaluation:

Psychological testing and evaluation are tools for revealing a wide range of information related to problems to an individual’s level of functioning . JFS’ consulting licensed psychologist administers this evaluation and assists in the design of a treatment plan.

  • Psychiatric Evaluation:

Difficulty with concentration, appetite or sleep may signal the presence of a chemical imbalance possibly requiring medical treatment. Jewish Family Service’s consulting psychiatrists will evaluate the individual and, if medication is prescribed, will monitor the medical aspect of the comprehensive treatment approach.
