BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP

JFS currently sponsors a Bereavement Support Group to assist those who have lost a loved one in the grieving and healing process. 

The group meets the second Sunday of every month, from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM in the Jewish Family Service building, located at
260 Grayson Road
Virginia Beach, VA, 23462.

Registration is required; sessions are confidential, FREE, and open to all, regardless of religious affiliation or temple membership.

 The group is facilitated by a Jewish Family Service LCSW.  To register, call Ellen Waranch, LCSW at 321-2222.


 

JFS KOSHER MEALS ON WHEELS NEEDS LOCAL SENIORS

JFS Meals on Wheels Program is the only Kosher Meals on Wheels delivery service in Tidewater and is looking for more clients to serve.

People are eligible for Meals on Wheels if they are 60 or older and find it difficult to shop for and prepare meals. 

The program is open to anyone in the community who meets those criteria, regardless of race, religion or background.

Up to seven Kosher meals per resident are delivered by friendly JFS volunteers every Thursday to the residents’ home.

Current Events
Each Thursday at 10:30 am, seniors meet in room 238 on the Sandler Family Campus to discuss new and old topics.  Come participate in lively discussion on politics, economics and education – no subject is off limits!  Open to all. Share your views or listen to others!

Knitting Club
The Knitting Club meets in the Moss Room on the Sandler Family Campus every Wednesday morning at 9:30am – 12:00 Noon. People can come and go during the morning and do not have to commit to the entire time to participate in this Club. Also, you can knit or crochet at home and bring in whatever you are working on. OR just drop your knitting off. This group is informal and a lot of fun! All items knitted go to clients of Jewish Family Service (JFS) in assisted living homes, hospitals or who have trouble making ends meet.
