![]() The Jewish Family Service Personal Affairs Management Program (PAM) is a protective service designed to safeguard the personal and financial affairs of those vulnerable individuals who have no family or friends to assist and care for them. How does the program work? After an initial assessment by a personal affairs management case manager, appropriate levels of service are coordinated. A well trained, carefully screened volunteer, under professional supervision is assigned to provide careful management of an individuals funds, bills and other personal affairs. All Personal Affairs Management clients, regardless of level of service, will be monitored by an assigned volunteer and a JFS case manager on a regular basis, for assessment of their ever changing needs. Initial Assessment and Evaluation with Client This confidential assessment serves as a baseline tool for personal affairs management, and provides the client with the professional input and information needed to make informed decisions. A one-point contact is made with the elderly individual in his or her residence. After gathering a detailed financial history, a plan for future financial and personal needs is created. The goal is to enhance the clients quality of life and help them maintain their independence. Recommendations and cost estimates for further services are included in the written evaluation. PAM Services are designed to stabilize a household or situation by coordinating, implementing and managing any service your loved one may need, always, with an eye toward cost containment.
