Recreation and Leisure are basic human needs.
Are your needs being met?

Many older adults find these needs difficult to meet when their lifestyles are dramatically altered by the onset of an illness. We at Jewish Family Service believe how someone spends their days, no matter what their limitations, to be an important factor in their satisfaction with life. So, as part of a holistic approach to home care, Jewish Family Service of Tidewater offers the Quality of Life Program. It is committed to addressing the changing leisure, social and recreational needs of homebound older adults.

Through Recreation Therapy, individualized programs are designed to assist participants to get back into life by adapting their leisure lifestyle to meet their current physical challenges. With the assistance of a Recreation Therapist participants can discover leisure options, community resources and explore new hobbies and interests. Homebound does not have to mean inactive!

A recreational therapist will assess, design and facilitate individualized programs to integrate leisure interests with current physical challenges. Participants can discover leisure options, community resources and new hobbies and interests regardless of their physical situation.
