Helping people who might otherwise not receive help is an expensive business. Jewish Family Service is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people meet lifes challenges through the provision of programs and services especially designed to make a difference in the quality of peoples lives. All JFS services are provided to the public on a sliding scale basis, but in so many cases, earned income does not cover the services needed. And JFS does not like to turn people away. JFS relies on private and public granting bodies such as the United Way of South Hampton Roads and the Virginia Peninsula, and the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater, as well as federal, state and local governments, and individual private donations to fund these direct service programs. That is why your support is so important! All contributions made to Jewish Family Service are tax deductible by law. Money contributed is returned to the public through programs.
