A tradition of care and concern for the people of Hampton Roads since 1946.

Jewish Family Service (JFS) provides a full spectrum of services to meet the health, education and welfare needs of Hampton Roads residents. Established in 1946, JFS has had a long-standing tradition of caring and concern for the community it serves. Services are provided by highly trained staff and caring volunteers, supported by an active Board of Directors and liaisons with professionals in the community. JFS truly embraces the community it serves, providing innovative solutions for multi-generational needs.

Jewish Family Service does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability or age in admission, treatment or participation in its programs, services and activities, or in employment. For further information about this policy, contact the Executive Director or Quality Assurance Coordinator at (757) 321-2222; TTY 1-800-828-1120.

Also, if you are interested in attending any JFS program/support group, and will require assistive aids or accessible facilities, please contact the Quality Assurance Coordinator at 321-2222 or TTY 1-800-828-1120 to request such aids. Please call in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Knitting Club
The Knitting Club meets in the Moss Room on the Sandler Family Campus every Wednesday morning at 9:30am – 12:00 Noon. People can come and go during the morning and do not have to commit to the entire time to participate in this Club. Also, you can knit or crochet at home and bring in whatever you are working on. OR just drop your knitting off. This group is informal and a lot of fun! All items knitted go to clients of Jewish Family Service (JFS) in assisted living homes, hospitals or who have trouble making ends meet. For more information on how to get involved call, 757.321.2309.
